Obituary from the Chaska Herald newspaper dated Thursday, December 3, 1964:

Funeral services for the late Lena Bruhn Pauly were held Saturday morning, November 21, at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska. Reverend Elred Domas, OFM, officiated, with burial in the church cemetery.

Lena Pauly died at 11:55 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, at St. Francis Hospital, Shakopee. She had been in declining health the past year and had been admitted to the hospital at 5:00 a.m. the morning of her death. Passing was due to a stroke at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Born March 29, 1898 at Minnetrista, the deceased was the daughter of Charles and Anna Bruhn. She attended St. Bonifacius public school and on March 1, 1919, married Joseph Pauly. Four children blessed this union. Survivors, in addition to the deceased's husband are daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Dolores) Howe of Carlton, Mrs. John (LaVerne) Wenzel of Chaska, sons, Milfred and Arlan of Chaska, eleven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Olive) Weiland of Mound and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Krotzer of Waconia, and two brothers, Ben Bruhn of Mound and Charles Bruhn of Waconia.

Joseph and Lena had resided at St. Bonifacius until 32 years ago when they moved to Chaska and went into the service station and gasoline business. They have been residents ever since -- having enjoyed a lake home the past six years at Briggs Lake near St. Cloud.

The deceased, a devoted wife, mother and friend, was cheerful and always ready to be of assistance.

Pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Charles Bruhn, Delbert Pauly, Roger Kaufhold, Lamont Weiland, Kenneth Gothmann and Orville Krotzer.
