Martha E. Deem
Martha E. Deem, 73, of Parkersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, following a sudden illness.
She was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Spencer, W.Va., a daughter of the late Thomas and Radella Linger Miller. Mrs. Deem was a former employee of Dudley's Florist, and was a member of the Pettyville United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lyle Deem, whom she married Dec. 30, 1954; three daughters, Rebecca Miller Douglass and her husband, Kent, of Austin, Texas, Radella Sue Davis and her husband, Aaron, of Mineral Wells, and Melissa Ann Shank of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, Gregory Douglass, Alison Hoffmann, Todd Davis, Tim Davis, Rob Shank, Adam Shank, and Sara Graham; six great-grandchildren, Hunter Shank, Rhylea Graham, Brooke Davis, Hailey Hoffman, Trevor Douglass and Karly Douglass.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Wilcox and Wilma Myers; and two brothers, Harry Miller and Robert Berle Miller.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. James Arbogast officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, and until the time of services Sunday.
