DONALD A. THOMAS

Mr. Donald Thomas, of Pickett Street in Plymouth, formerly of Random Lake, passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon, January 5, 2012, in Plymouth. He was 72 years old.

Donald was born on the family farm in the Town of Belgium on May 1, 1939, son of Ivo and Martha Hansen Thomas. After his schooling, Don helped on the family farm.

On October 15, 1966 he was united in marriage with Diann Ramel at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum. The couple settled in Kewaskum and moved to Random Lake in 1969. They moved to Plymouth in 2009.

Mr. Thomas worked as a carpenter for Design & Construction in West Bend. After more than 30 years with them, he retired in 1999.

Don was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and a former member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Random Lake. A proud Luxembourger, he enjoyed gardening and the process of canning his vegetables, as well as cooking. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Don also enjoyed woodworking, birdwatching and spending time with his family and grandkids.

He is survived by his wife Diann of Plymouth, their four children: Tracy (fiancée Brian Johnston) of Greenbush, Tammy Thomas of Sheboygan, Todd (Michelle) Thomas of West Bend and Terry (Odis) Collins of Sheboygan, He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, sister Theresa (Eugene) Kirst of Plymouth, 4 brothers: Paul (Ruth) Thomas of Plymouth, David (Theresa) Thomas, Harry (Marlene) Thomas and Joseph (Annette) Thomas, all of Random Lake, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Thomas.

Funeral Services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 5PM on Monday, January 9th, at Our Lady of the Lakes, St. Mary's Chapel, Random Lake. Father Jim Ernster will officiate. He will be laid to rest the following day at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Dacada. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Monday from 3-5PM. Show less
