World War II Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was killed in action. He served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army in the 1st Battalion, 105th Infantry, 27th Infantry Division. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action between June 20 and July 7, 1944 on Saipan, Marianas Islands.
