She was born April 4, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Martin C. and Mary Broadbent Ostvig. She was the seventh of nine children. She graduated from Orono High School in Minnesota. She continued her education at Utah State University where she received a BS degree in Early Childhood Development and Elementary Education
Georgia taught school for four and a half years in Howard Lake, Minnesota. She married Neil Kelsey Johnson on January 25, 1974, in the Provo LDS Temple. She taught at Central Elementary School in Pleasant Grove for two years and later conducted a preschool in her home.
She spent a lifetime of service to her family, neighbors, and church. Her favorite hobbies were canning, camping, and hosting her family from out of state.
She is survived by her husband, Neil; and four children, Kelly Hansen 16, Kris Anne 14, Martin Eugene 12, and Gregory Bearnson 9; father, Martin C. Ostvig and wife, Bernice Brown of Buffalo, Minn.; She is also survived by three sisters and five brothers, Jack (Gunnel) Ostvig, Mound, Minn.; Jim (Nancy) Ostvig, Delano, Minn.; Patsy (Daryl) Despain, Tempe, Ariz.-Beijing, China; Dixie (Jim) Johnson, Eagle River, Alaska; Judy (Sid) Paulson, Salt Lake; Martin C., Jr. "Bud" (Felicity) Ostvig, Howard Lake, Minn.; Grant (Marian) Ostvig, Mesa, Ariz.; Tex (Donna) Ostvig, Wayzata, Minn.; plus 36 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., in the Highland LDS 10th Ward, 10400 No. 6000 West, Highland, where friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. or on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
