An obituary published in the Shelbyville Democrat on December 10, 1931 for Mrs. F. L. Lewis states that she had died at the home of her son, Verne Lewis, in Decatur. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Shelbyville. Mrs. Lewis was seventy-eight years old. Her husband died in 1924. She made her home in Decatur with her son and family the last two years. Surviving were four sons, Art of Cape Girardeau, Bert and Lee of Shelbyville and Verne of Decatur; one brother, Elias Stine of South Dakota; four sisters, Ella Zick of Oshkosh, Wis., Belle Brown of Lexington, Ill., Hattie Lowery of Gibson City, Ill., and Temple Lowery of Saybrook, Illinois.
