Edward Marion Bennett was born on 02 June 1878 in Fort Scott, KS to Amos H. Bennett and Millie (Cromwell) Bennett. Not much is known about Edward's earlier life other than information afforded on his death certificate indicating he was a farmer and worked as a laborer and that he died of pulmonary turbeculosis at age 58 years, 8 months and 9 days. I found some additional information on a census record when he was only five years old but this record provided little more than verification of his parentage and residence at that time. Edward was married at least two times, the first to Laura Mae Britton on 20 January 1897 in Boone County Iowa. This marriage produced at least five, and possibly six children. Children of Laura Mae and Edward are:

Edward's second marriage was to "Essie" (maiden name u/k) b. 15 May 1894 d. 22 October 1918. Edward married Essie about 1909, and this marriage produced at least one son; Sylvester H. Bennett, b. Abt. 1911 in Minnesota and d. u/k.
Edward Marion Bennett died on 21 February 1937 in Joplin, Missouri and is buried in the Forest Park Cemetery, Joplin, Missouri.
