Son, Ernest (Ernie) recalls that his dad, Arden Ernest Holliday, died from stomach cancer. He is buried in the old Sunnyside Cemetery on Willow Street in Long Beach, CA. Years later, Ernie decided to find his father's grave. Oddly, the unmarked grave was found to be along side the now paved road through the cemetery. Ernie had a burial marker placed on his fathers grave.
When his mother, Laura Johnson Holliday died, he took her cremains and under the darkness of night, removed the flower container from his fathers grave and placed her ashes there.
In 1991 when son Ernest Dan Holliday died, Ernie had the memorial park owner have Laura's name inscribed on Arden's grave stone.
