Witch Trials Victim. She was convicted of practicing witchcraft during the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. There are twenty benches in the memorial, one for each of the victims actively put to death (not counting those who died in prison). On 31 Oct 2001, Margaret (Stephenson) Scott was officially exonerated and declared innocent by the Acting Massachusetts Governor Jane M. Swift.
