Carol Ann Wakefield, 46, of Orleans, died July 22, 1995 at her home. She was born October 10, 1948 in Ionia, the daughter of Chester and Mary (Neilson) Bodman. She was married to Lester Wakefield in March 1982. She was a CB operator with the handle of "Alkie."
She is survived by her husband Lester Wakefield, of Orleans; daughters: Mary (Brian) Badder, of Ionia, Betty (Daniel) Wacha, of Ionia, Pennie Wilburn, of Grand Rapids, and Tina Sandborn, of Montana; brothers: Robert Bodman, Harold Bodman, Richard Bodman, and Chester Bodman Jr., all of Ionia; sisters: Shirley (Joseph) Shattuck, and Pennie (Steve) McBride, both of Ionia; and five grandchildren. One son, one brother and her parents preceded her in death.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place Friday at 2 p.m. at the family lot in Highland Park Cemetery. Father Anderson of St. John Episcopal Church of Ionia will officiate. All arrangements have been made by Hull Memorial Chapel, in Muir.
