Zelma Mae Farr, 79, Bella Vista, Ark., died Feb. 19, 2002, at Bates Medical Center, Bentonville, Ark. She was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Easley, a daughter of Noah T. and Lucy Lee Lester Thomas. She was married to Bruce L. Farr, who died in 1994.

She was a Women's Marine Corps veteran of World War II. She was a transcript analyst for Fort Hays State University, retiring after 23 years. She moved to Bella Vista in 1986 from Hays, Kan., and was a member of Bella Vista Community Church.

Survivors include: two sons, Richard Farr, Manhattan, Kan., and Terry Farr, Bella Vista, Ark.; one brother, Oscar Nelson Thomas, Jefferson City; one grandchild.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Bella Vista Community Church. The Rev. Richard Lindman will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Bella Vista Library, 11 Dickens Place, Bella Vista, Ark., 72714; or to Bella Vista Animal Shelter, 32 Bella Vista Way, Bella Vista, Ark. 72714. Arrangements are under the direction of Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory, Bella Vista, Ark.
