PENDYGRAFT, 48, WORLD WAR II VETERAN, DIES
World War II veteran Albertus Pendygraft, 48, of Bardstown, died after a long illness Saturday, November 4, [1967] at 2:30 a.m. at Veterans Hospital, Louisville. A carpenter, Pendygraft had been ill nearly three years. Hospitalized a number of times, he was last admitted to Veterans Hospital a week before his death. His residence was on East John Fitch Avenue, Bardstown. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Unabell Hutchins Pendygraft; three daughters, Cecilia Ann; Mary Dianne, a junior at Bardstown High, and Mary Albertus, 5-years-old, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Nannie Pendygraft, Bardstown; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Chesser, Springfield; Mrs. Lucille Coomes and Mrs. Beulah Gore, both of Louisville; Mrs. Margie Parrent, Bardstown; also one half-sister and a half-brother. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mann, Greenwell & Arnold Funeral Home. Rev. John Feistritzer, of St. Joseph Church, led the prayer service. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Greenwell, Jimmy Greenwell, Johnny Greenwell, Robert Hutchins, David Coomes and Michael Coomes.
