Funeral services for Jackie Lee Harless, age 52, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville 44077, with Rev Stoney Drain officiating.
After 25 years of loyal service, her voice provided comfort to the citizens and city of Mentor Safety Forces.
Mrs. Harless passed away Feb. 20, 2011, at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Jackie was born Oct. 15, 1958, in Cleveland, and was a resident of Painesville Township, and formerly of Fairport Harbor.
She graduated from Fairport Harding High School, class of 1976.
Mrs. Harless started her career as a dispatcher for the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department in Charleston, W.Va. and retired after 25 years as dispatcher for Mentor Fire and Police Departments.
Jackie enjoyed gardening, family get-to-gethers and especially springtime trips to the mountains of West Virginia.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Harless, whom she married March 6, 1976; sons, Richard Paul Harless of Painesville Township and Christopher Lee (Sheila) Harless of Painesville; three grandchildren, Courtney, Brendan, and Elijah; mother, Hazel (Breeden) Workman of Fairport Harbor; sisters, Donna Beech of Madison, Denise (Ron) Hibbard of Painesville Township, and Diane (Bill) Kobetitsch of North Olmsted; brother, Dwayne (Liz) Workman of Painesville; mother-in-law, Maureen Harless of Charleston, W.Va.; brothers-in-law, Dan (Annie), Sammy, Tom (Cathy), Tim, and Michael Harless; sister-in-law, Roberta (Ron) Tredo of Orlando, Fla.; 19 nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Emory Workman in 2003; and sister-in-law, Wendy Harless.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
