She was born Myrtle Christine Lounneer, daughter of James and Martha Lounneer. She went to Waterloo in 1911, and it was there that same year that she was married.
Her son, Russell R. Lasley, flew back from his work in Puerto Rico, brought the body from Chicago following services Thursday. She has a daughter, Myrtle Anderson, of Los Angeles, Calif; nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted member of the AME church, having been among the founders of two. The Payne Chapel AME church at Waterloo was organized in her home, and she was a member upon her passing of the Gregg Memorial AME church of Chicago. CLARINDA HERALD-JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, April 1, 1968
