Thomas Henry Bates Sr., 73 years of age passed away on Sunday Dec. 18, 2011 at VA Hospital in Martinez Ca, Born in December 11,1938 in Springfield, MA. He was the son of the late Thomas H, & Gwendolyn Bates (Robertson), Thomas served in the Navy and the National Guards. Survivors include his son Tom Jr., (Michaela) and his 6 grandchildren and they are Jon Jr., Jessica, Max, Haley, Megan, and Thomas IV, and 3 great grandchildren, Jon, Kaylin, and Laylah, and his brother Ralph Bates (Judy); his sisters Linda Roff (Freeman), Joyce Wareham (Doug). He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy, their son Jon, his brother Charles, and his sister Dottie Gilday. Cremation has taken place and a memorial is set to take place at 1:00pm on Saturday January 7, 2012 at New Hope International Church 2120 Olivera Ct Concord, CA.
