Marjory M. Rittenmeyer, 49, of 1119 E. Court Street, died Friday evening at her home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. A parish rosary will recited at 7 p.m. today at the George L. Gay Funeral Home, where visitation has begun. Memorial donations may be made for cancer research.

Mrs. Rittenmeyer was born March 6, 1930, in Dubuque, a daughter of William and Mary (Deveny) Crock. She was graduated from the Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Rittenmeyer married Ted Rittenmeyer on December 22, 1948. The couple co-owned Gordon Food Products in Iowa City.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church, the Iowa State Historical Society, the Johnson County Historical Society, The Iowa City Genealogical Society and the Iowa Restaurant Association.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael of Iowa City; two daughters, Mrs. Ed. (Susan) Schmucker of Iowa City and Mary Jo Rittenmeyer of Iowa City; and three grandsons.

A son and a grandson died earlier.
