R. Lee Rains, 63, of 601 E. 6th St., West Frankfort, died at 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 1976, in his home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the ParkerReedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort. Burial, will be in the East Fork Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today. Masonic services will be at 7:30-p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Rains was born on Oct. 12, 1892, in Franklin County, to Elijah and Hettie Bennett Rains. He married Sallie Horrell on Feb. 21, 1918, in West Frankfort. He was a retired carpenter and a member and secretary treasurer of the Carpenter's Union Local 1193. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the World War I Barracks in West Frankfort. He was a 50-year member, of Masonic Lodge 567 in West Frankfort, a 50-year member of the Ainad Temple of East St. Louis and a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in West Frankfort. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jo Ann Mondino of West Frankfort, and Wilma Sanks of Madison, Wis.; a son, Dan of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Pearl Kern of West Frankfort; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
