ROGERSVILLE DOCTOR DIES AT AGE OF 76

Dr. Hiram Ross Adamson, a practicing physician at Rogersville for 52 years, died at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, in the Wheeling General Hospital, following a serious illness of six weeks.
Dr. Adamson was active in his profession until the time of his last illness. He was 76.
A son of the late Charles and Amanda Iams Adamson, he was born Dec. 15, 1875, in Center Township, near Rogersville.
After attending Waynesburg College, Dr. Adamson taught school for a while in Center Township. He later attended Jefferson Medical College at Philadelphia, and was graduated with honors with the class of 1900. On June 5, 1950, he was presented with a gold letter from the medical college for having completed 50 years of active practice.
He served for some time on the Center Township school board.
Surviving are one daughter Mrs. Henrietta Conover of Fayetteville, N.Y., and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. T. N. Grove of Rogersville, Mrs. John L Grove of Rogersville, James S Adamson of Waynesburg, Fred Adamson of Rogersville, Mrs. J. Randolph Bayard of Rices Landing, and Charles Adamson of Brave Star Route. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Dr. Hiram Ross Adamson of Rogersville, who died Saturday, Aug. 23, 1952, will be held at the home of his sister, Mrs. T. N. Grove of Rogersville at 2 P.M. Wednesday, Aug. 27, with the Rev. John Thompson of Rogersville officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Grove home after 6 p.m. today (Monday). Weaver Funeral Home, Waynesburg, in charge.
