LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. HELGOTH

Mrs. Margaret Helgoth, well known resident of Holyoke, passed away at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at her home following an illness of two months. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mrs. Helgoth had resided at Holyoke for 28 years and had lived in this area for 49 years. She was 73 years of age. She was hospitalized in Sterling for more than two weeks in June, entering Logan County Hospital there on June 4 and returning to her home here on June 20.

Rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick's church in Holyoke, Requiem mass was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's church, with the Rev. John Walsh as the celebrant. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. Arrangements were in charge of the Radford Funeral home of Haxtun.

The daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Groth) Humerickhouse, Margaret Leola Humerickhouse was born August 7, 1890, at Olpe, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Henry Helgoth at Olpe on April 12, 1910. They moved to the St. Peter's community south of Fleming in 1915 and to Holyoke in 1936.

Mr. Helgoth passed away in 1944. Since that time Mrs. Helgoth had continued to make her home in Holyoke.

Mrs. Helgoth was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church here.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Helgoth, Boulder, and Harvey Helgoth, Holyoke; three daughters, Helen Helgoth and LaVerne (Mrs. George Rober), both of Holyoke, and Inez Helgoth, Arvada; three brothers, Sim Humerickhouse, Los Angeles, California, Frank Humerickhouse, Topeka, Kansas, and Joseph Humerickhouse, Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Potter and Mrs. Clara Patch, both of Kansas City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Helgoth in death were her parents; a son, Ralph, who died in 1924 at 2 years of age; one brother, William; and two sisters, Effie and Clara. Mrs. Helgoth's mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Humerickhouse, was 101 years of age at the time of her death in 1957.

Among those from a distance who were here for the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Helgoth and family, Boulder; Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Helgoth, Winton, California; Mr. and Mrs. Al Symanski, Louisville, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Vic Schaefer, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Helgoth and John Brekel and Margaret, all of Fleming; Mrs. Philomene Brown, Tucson, Arizona; Jerome Rober, Julesburg; and several friends from Sterling, Fleming and the St. Peter's community.
