Fred Beddoes Kelsey, 98 years old, died Monday, August 12, 2002, in Salt Lake City. He was born Feb. 21, 1904, in Springville, Utah to William Henry and Selena Beddoes Kelsey, two original Utah Mormon pioneers. The youngest of six children, he took charge of the family farm at age 14 after his father died of typhoid fever. While working the farm he attended BYU and graduated in 1928 with degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Finance. During his working career he was a surveyor, metallurgist, electrician, and construction foreman. After a short courtship of 10 years, he married Aurlene Christensen in 1947. After his retirement in 1971, he and Aurlene enjoyed traveling the world and playing tennis until he was 94. He is survived by his wife Aurlene, their three children - Ann (Lester), Fred (Robin) and Margaret (Bill), and two grandchildren - Will and Miyo. Graveside services will held Saturday, August 17th, 11:00 a.m. at the Salem City Cemetery, 130 E. 965 S. Salem, Utah.
