Occupation: Plumber. He married Clara J. (Hancock) Goodhue on December 30, 1869 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of James Hancock and Elizabeth "Betsey" (Loomis) Hancock.

Abner and Clara had a son, Clarence Abner Goodhue, who was born March 20, 1871 in Windsor Locks, Hartford County, Connecticut. He died of consumption, [Oct. 29th. gravestone].
