DALLAS - Herman N. Ediger, 76, died Thursday in an accident while repairing his motorhome.
He was born in Dallas and married Anne Brandt on June 6, 1940 there. They lived in Portland and West Glacier, Mont., before returning to Dallas in 1946. He operated Ediger Church Furniture in Dallas. His sons now operate the company in Independence.
He restored American and European automobiles and offered limousine services throughout Portland and the Willamette Valley with his Rolls-Royce. He served Prestige, Portland and Coachman limousine services in Portland.
He was a member of the Evangelical Bible Church in Dallas and enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
Survivors include his wife; daughter; Karyol Hiebert of Dallas; sons, Donald G. of Independence and Bruce W. of Salem; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Sunday and Monday in Dallas mortuary. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church, with interment in Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Salem.
Contributions may be made to the church mission fund.
