Mary Watts

MILES CITY, MT. --- A longtime Kinsey resident, Mary Watts. age 84, passed away Friday Sept. 7. 2001, at Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.

Mary was born on Nov. 30, 1916 in Lincoln, NB., the daughter of Fred and Eva Frickle Wambolt,

The family moved to Hysham, MT., when Mary was 12 and Mary took care of the other children.

They lived in various farming communities in the Forsyth and Hysham area.
Mary graduated from Hysham High School in 1936.

On Aug. 22, 1936, she married Harold Watts in Forsyth.
They were married 56 years until Harold passed away in July of 1992.

They moved to the Kinsey Irrigation Project in 1941 on Unit 32.

Mary was a resident of the Kinsey community for 60 years.

Mary was a devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church in Kinsey for many years and then later the First Lutheran Church of Miles City.

She spent many years clerking at the voting precinct at Kinsey.
She loved her many friends, her children and her grandchildren.

Mary delighted in country living, raising gardens and caring for her yard.

Mary taught children how to milk cows, hoe sugar beets, shock grain, as well as to be good citizens.
She was loved by her children and will be greatly missed.

Mary is survived by her children: Dan Watts and his wife Carol of Fairview, MT., Jim Watts and his wife Carol of Miles City, MT., Bill Watts and his wife Nancy of Tucson, AZ., and Donna Griffiths and her husband Allan of Helena, MT.; her brothers and sisters; Rose Reinhardt of Billings, MT., Leo Wambolt of Nipomo, CA., Alex Wambolt of Tucson, AZ., Pauline Haggarty of Miles City, Helen Dloughy of Lincoln, NB.,
Edward Wambolt , George Wambolt, Virginia Wambolt McDonald all of Billings, Lydia Sherman of Federal Way, WA., and Clyde Wambolt of Ryegate, MT., thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her step-mother, Pauline (Neuhardt) Wambolt, and two brothers, Fred Jr. and Robert Wambolt.

A prayer service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Miles City.

Interment will follow in the family lot in the Custer County Cemetery, Miles City, MT.

Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
