Services for Charles Codie Adams, 77, are Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at McKenzie First Baptist Church with Brother Dennis Trull officiating. Interment follows at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2012, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home and Saturday, January 7, 12:30 p.m. until service time at McKenzie First Baptist Church.

He died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Mr. Adams' career included: real estate broker and auctioneer; insurance agent; owner of Magnolia Manor Retirement Home in McKenzie; school teacher and principal.

He was born on December 14, 1934 in Dresden, Tenn. to Alton Bryant and Elizabeth Cunningham Adams. He was a member of McKenzie First Baptist Church, a member of the McKenzie Industrial Board, and a member of the Board of Directors of the McKenzie Bank of Gleason. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Ann Martin Adams of McKenzie; four sons, Dr. Michael Adams of Birmingham, Ala., Dr. Kevin (Kim) Adams of Murray, Kentucky, Jay Codie (Holly) Adams of Edmund, Oklahoma, and Clay A. Adams of McKenzie; a sister, Betty Chesser of McKenzie; a brother, Ralph (Bobbie) Adams of Union City, Tenn.; and eleven grandchildren .

McKenzie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
