Yolanda L. Prehn-Mueller, 72, formerly of Bethalto, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Port Charlotte.
She was the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Lorton) Dugger, born Aug. 27, 1938, in White Hall.
She lived in Bethalto until 1987 when she moved to Port Charlotte, still spending her summers here in Illinois. She was a member of the Bethalto United Methodist Church, where her heart was in ministering to young people. She was involved with the Emmaus Ministry, taught Sunday school and Rainbow Girls. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star, a member of the library board and Rotary Auxiliary. Most of all, she loved spreading the Gospel through her faith and love for everyone.
Yolanda will be greatly missed by her husband of seven years, John Mueller; daughter, Laurel (Yvonne Bras) Prehn of Port Charlotte; son, Ted (Julie) Prehn of Bethalto; stepdaughters, Bridgett Mueller, Robin Ashley and Penney Mueller; sister, Yvonne Etheredge of Port Charlotte; and grandsons, Andrew Prehn and Jonathan Prehn, both of Alton.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, Les Prehn.
Visitation will be from 2:30 until services at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Bethalto United Methodist Church with Pastors John Tennyson and Judy Miller officiating.
Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorial donations may be made to Edgewater UMC, 19190 Cochran Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL 33948 or Bethalto UMC, 240 E. Sherman St., Bethalto, IL 62010.
