Drafted in the 1977 MLB draft in round 1 as the 14th pick as a shortstop out of by the Houston Astros. He played in the Astros farm system until April 4, 1980. On May 2, 1980, as a free agent he signed with the California Angels and made his major league debut with them on September 15, 1982 and stayed with them until the end of the 1983 season when he was sent back down to the minor league. After 1 season in the minors, he was signed by the San Francisco Giants, where he played for 1 season, 1985, before retiring. In 120 major league games his batting average was .215, made 4 home runs and batted in 16 runs.
