Funeral Rites Held Friday for L.C. Emerson
Funeral services for L.C. Emerson, 75, who died of a heart attack at his home here Wednesday of last week were held in the All Angels Episcopal church Friday afternoon with the Rev. Stuart Frazier officiating.
"Beyond the Sunset", vocal duet, was sung by Mrs. W.O. Fillmore and Mrs. George Gibson, with Mrs. Earl Simons accompanying at the organ.
Pallbearers were Richard Behrens, Everett Ward, Floyd Ward, Oscar Wamsley, Dr. B.B. Clark and Ralph Stordahl. Honorary pallbearers were Howard Plank, E. Russell, Roger Remschel, F.L. Bennett, F.H. Behrens, Malcolm Latekilt, Dr. Lyle Hare and C.E. Dawson.
Burial was in the Spearfish Rose Hill cemetery under the direction of the McColley funeral home.
Out-of-town relatives present for the funeral were: One daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Powell, Clifton, N.J.; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Emerson, Lincoln, Neb., John L. Emerson, Saint Maries, Ida., Ralph W. Emerson, Jackson, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Emerson, Clinton, Ia.; one grandchild. John Emerson, Clinton, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Annie Derickson, Dorsey, Neb.; a nephew, William Derickson, Star, Neb.; a niece, Sadie Derickson, Dorsey, Neb.; a great nephew, Samuel Derickson, Star, Neb.; and a great niece, Mable Derickson, Star, Neb. Other immediate surviving relatives include seven grandchildren.
