Died on the 9th of July,1872,Mrs.Mildred Embry.
I am requested to give notice of the death of our beloved sister Mildred Embry.She was the
daughter of our old Bro. Thomas Palmer,formerly a deacon of the church at Mt.Zion,Madison
County Ky. Sister Embry was born June 3rd 1819.She was baptized in early life,was married to
Jesse Embry August 19th,1838,and died July 9th,1872.Consequently when she died was aged 53
years one month and six days.Her husband,Bro. Jesse Embry,died Nov.14th,1866.I attended her
father's funeral at Mt.Zion,August 5th,1869.Her mother(Nancy Foster),who is the sister of our
lamented Bro.Henry Foster,still lingers on the shores of time,being quite aged and infirm.For many
years Sister Embry suffered much from ill health,often despairing of life;still she was full of energy
and industry;she was pious and beloved by all.Her children,six in number,have lost a devoted
mother;and never have I seen a family that felt more deeply the loss of a good mother.May the
consolation of the Gospel of Christ enable them to be resigned to the will of the Lord. A.

This obituary is dated July,26,1872.At the moment I am not sure which Madison County,Ky.
newspaper this came from,since I did not do the research myself.But the person who did(my
sister-in-law)will let me know in a couple of weeks from.When I find out I will post it.
