Patsy Ann Mathis Burnes, 80 of Kingsland Texas formerly of Lometa, Texas passed away Wednesday January 4, 2012. She was born June 23, 1931 to Jack Robert and Mary Bell Lloyd Mathis in Post, Texas.

On September 12, 1948 Patsy married R.V. Burnes in Lynn County, Texas.

Patsy was interested in many hobbies including needle pointing, gardening, painting and floral designing. She was the first proprietor of Kingsland Florist.

Patsy's true passion was a public servant to numerous church's and surrounding communities. She was a Charter Member of the Highland Lakes Baptist Church and Alpha Theta Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International.

Her husband R.V. Burnes precedes her in death by 2 months and 13 days, parents, one brother, a great great grandson, Tristyn Ross.

Survivors include sons, Ron Burnes and wife Anabel of Kingsland, Texas and Roy Burnes and wife Arzenet of Eden, Texas; daughter, Cindy Miller and husband Darryl of Kingsland, Texas; nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include Jim Barton, Truitt Wren, John Raschke, Mark Chapman, Clarence Yarter and Danny Williams.

Visitation will be Friday January 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home in Kingsland, Texas.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday January 7, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, Texas, with Reverend Ron Langley and Reverend Dwight Reagan officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. at Long Cove Cemetery in Lometa, Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Highland Lakes Baptist Church, Kingsland, Texas.
