ROBERT BLAIR Esq - Here is laid ROBERT BLAIR of Avontoun, President of the Court of Session, Scotland. He died May 18 AD 1811 in the 69th year of his age. And here reposes his wife, ISABELLA CORNELIA HALKETT who died AD 1857 Dec 21 aged 91. Here lies ISABELLA CORNELIA BLAIR, second daughter of William Blair of Avontoun, and Jane Christian Nourse, born 27 March 1831 and died 9 September 1832. In memory of ROBERT BLAIR, Captain in HM 2d Dragoon Guards, VC, eldest son of William blair of Avontoun and Jane Christian Nourse. He served with 9th Lancers and Royal Artillery at the siege of Delhi, and won Victoria Cross; Bolundshuhur, 28th September 1857, where he ws severely wounded. Born 13 March 1834 at Avontoun, Linlithgowshire; died 28th March at Cawnpore, India where he is buried.
