Laura Mary Wild (nee Borop), age 90, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at her home.
Laura is survived by her husband of 66 years, George P. Wild Jr.; three children: Cheryl L. Wild of New Jersey, Barbara J. (Dr. Joseph) Kacmar of Crown Point, IN, and George P. (Janie) Wild III of Carmel, IN; grandchildren: William Bing, James and Timothy Kacmar, Lisa, Abigail, Jessica, Stephanie, Caleb, Cassandra, Samara, and Zachary Wild.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Mary Borop; brother, Lyle Borop; sister, Janet Springer; and son-in-law, Edgar Bing.
Laura was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Crown Point. She worked for over 30 years as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Dyer, IN, as well as with Dr. Horst and Dr. Carpenter in Crown Point, IN. She was a World War II Veteran serving as a M.A.S.H. nurse in the 166th General Hospital Unit in France and Germany. Laura was a member of Pheasant Valley Country Club and enjoyed golfing, knitting, and playing bridge. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (2 blks east of Broadway) at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN, from 12 Noon until time of service at 1:30 PM with John Starr officiating. Interment at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN.
