He attended school at Robert L. Osborne and was well known for his athletic abilities in baseball, basketball and softball. Jobo played minor league baseball in Shelby, NC, Eastman, GA, and Lakeland, FL. He later played baseball for Marietta City, and Atco Mill, and softball for the Lockheed Jetstars, a team that won several state championships. Jobo retired from Lockheed Aircraft Company in 1984 after 33 years of service.

He was a member of Macland Baptist Church for over 30 years. Jobo loved his Lord, his family, his church, gospel music, and playing golf.

Survivors include:
Wife and sweetheart of 67 years, Myra Lee McTyre Foster, Marietta;
2 Sons, Rev. Johnny Jobo Foster & wife, Judy Kendall Foster, Marietta, Rev. Jimmy Guy Foster, Talking Rock;
2 Grandsons, John Kendall Foster & wife, Samantha Fonnegra Foster, Dallas, Charter Edward Foster & wife, Leigh Smalley Foster, Kennesaw;
3 Great-Grandchildren, Marlee Grace Foster, age 3, Brady Edward Foster, 20 months, and Knox Edward Foster, due to arrive in early February; Sister in law, Beverly McTyre Stringfellow, Dumfries, VA;
