Obituary from the Carroll County Times Tuesday February 7, 2006: Alice Catherine Murphy, 77, of Westminster, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2006, at her home. Born June 9, 1928, in Clarksburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Grace Maybury Aman. She was the wife of Robert Allen Murphy, who died in 1966. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Roman Catholic Church, where she belonged to the Sodality. She also crocheted quilts for use at Carroll Hospital Center. Surviving are children Dorothy Worthem of Manchester, Kathy Yingling of Round Hill, VA, Thomas Murphy of Westminster, Patrick Murphy and Jane Murphy, both of Monrovia and Susie Furr of Keymar; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was the last of her immediate family. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Roman Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with the Rev. Kevin Mueller officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, where a Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Hospice, 95 Carroll St., Westminster, MD 21157.
