Born in London, England and died in Livingston County, Kentucky. Rondeau was pioneer Baptist preacher. He married Ann Arkinstall also of England. They sailed in 1819 to America, where they traveled west to Golconda, Pope County, Illinois. Rondeau was a member of the Regulators who captured and drove out the Sturdivant gang of counterfeiters from Rosiclare, Pope County, Illinois in 1823 in which he received a serious gunshot wound to the shoulders. He and his wife lived in Golconda until 1830 when they moved and bought Rondeau Island, on the Ohio River which was a part of Livingston County, Kentucky with their 10 children: Ebenezer, Charles, Sarah, James, John, William, Theophilus, Mehitabel, Mary and Immanuel.
