He was widowed in 1964. He was then married to Nancy Ann Nelson Hoff (1932-2006) on 28 August 1971 in Duluth, MN. He worked as an accountant. He died on 26 December 1989 in Superior, WI at the age of 65. He was interred at Calvary Cemetery.
