Sarah Ann Baldwin was born May 19, 1793, in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Samuel S Pettengill, at the age of 19, went to Williamstown, Berkshire County, Mass., where he became acquainted with Miss Sarah Ann Baldwin, and took her back to Vermont where they married, October 25, 1812, and returned to Williamstown. Their union was blessed with 14 children. They lived in various localities and finally moved to Michigan where their youngest was born. Sarah passed away on February 8, 1872, in Mt. Morris, Michigan.
