Johann Friedrick Rottinghaus was the son of Johann Heinrich and Catharina Maria (Brinkman) Rottinghaus. He is the older brother of John Bernard Rottinghaus. He married Anna Maria Elisabeth Busch in Damme, Germany on 1/18/1831 before they emigrated to the US in 1834.
