Funeral services for Val G. Bruns were held Friday, July 8th at St. Ann's Catholic church at Bena at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Fuchs officiating, and interment made in St. Joseph's cemetery in Ball Club.

Valentine G. Bruns passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital in Deer River on Tuesday, July 5th.

Born at St. Joseph, Minnesota, August 14th, 1908, he had been in the garage business in Bena since 1933.

He is survived by his wife Louise, two sons Kenneth and Robert of Bena, and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Reimer, Jr. (Betty) of Bena, and by three grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Henry Weyland of St. Paul, Mrs. Andy Schwegel and Miss Angela Bruns of St. Joseph, Minnesota. (The Cass Lake Times, July 14, 1966)
