Nghia Huu Tran 30, of Springfield, formerly of South Vietnam, died at 3:41 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital.
He was born Dec. 31, 1963, in Saigon, South Vietnam, the son of Anx Tan and Phube Thi Ngo Tran. He married Dieu Dang in 1980 in Vietnam.
Mr. Tran moved from Vietnam to Springfield in 1992 with his family. He was a cook at the China Gate II restaurant and a member of the Church of the Little Flower.
Surviving are his wife, Dieu; two sons, Hien and Hoa Tran, both at home; two daughters, Nadine and Teresa, both at home; and parents, Anx Tan and Phube Thi Ngo Tran of Vietnam.
