OLIVER, MRS. DOROTHY M. DOTTRY, 72. Born September 15, 1930, she passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the Medical Center of Mesquite following a lengthy battle with Alzhelmer's disease. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Maggie Kellum Farnell and George Dottry as well as her beloved husband, Billy Oliver.
After leaving her job as a seamstress at the Delta Garment Factory in Shreveport, LA, she traveled to Dallas, TX where she made many friends and acquaintances. An avid animal lover with a wonderful sense of humor, Dorothy retired, after 32 years of service, from the Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, where she worked in the Reception department. She is survived by two sisters: Dora Farnell Huston, Mesquite, TX and Thelma Farnell Jackson. Shreveport, LA, a niece whom she loved as a sister: Lucille Hall, Shreveport. LA, a niece: Sandra Huston, Mesquite, TX; nephews: Roland Farnell (Dorothy) Shreveport, LA, Leonard Turner, Shreveport, LA, Kenneth Huston, Las Vegas, NV; great-nephews: Maurice Hall (Arlene), Shreveport, LA, Larry Hall, Dallas, TX and Dudley Hall, Dallas, TX as well as a large number of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was loved and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. in the Sparkman Hillcrest Chapel on West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX.
