She was born June 26, 1925 in Albany, Vermont the daughter of Orin and Mary(Kenneson)Lafont. She received her Registered Nursing Degree from the Brighlook Hospital in St. Johnsbury. On Oct 10,1953 she marries John Paul Ricard who predeceased her in 1984.
She was employed at local nursing homes, Broadview Hospital, North Country Hospital, Area Agency on Aging and the Orleans-Essexand VNA & Hospice.
She is survived by her five children; Theresa Ricard of Newport,Roger and Lynn of Windsor Conn., Deborah and Dale Biron of Newport, Rachel Ricard of Derby, and John And Tammy Ricard of Newport,by her five grandchildren; Devan Biron,Tyrone,Joseph,Hannah and John Paul Ricard III.
She is also survived by her brohers Clyde znd his wife Grace Lafont of Barton and Glenn and his wife Beverly Lafont of West Glover, and by a sister in-law Rita Laplume of Canton, Conn.She was predeceased by her companion Joseph Lower.
Funeral Services held Wed. June 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Derbyline. Interment held June 11 at 2:00p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newport.
