Jess Seaborn Weldon, 92, devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, left us to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at South Oaks Baptist Church in Arlington. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Jess was born in Tulsa, Okla., on Sept. 30, 1919, to S.D. and Louise Weldon. He married the love of his life, Josephine M. Bowling, Feb. 10, 1940. They shared 67 1/2 wonderful years of marriage, reared two children and was blessed with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild who loved and adored their Pawpaw and will always remember his sense of humor. He joined the Oklahoma National Guard in 1937. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps at 21 years old and served in the European Theater. After discharge from the army, he pursued a career in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration and opened his own business in Arlington. He was a Mason and a member of the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Jess loved his church and was a member of the Topper's Class at South Oaks Baptist Church. Members of his class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Jess was preceded in death by his wife Josephine.
Survivors: Son, Phillip Weldon and wife, Suzanne; daughter, Elizabeth Pendley and husband, Winston; grandchildren, Jamilyn, Ryan, Dan, Cameron and Lauren; and great-grandson, Damian.
