From the Macomb Daily Journal dated Wed. May 11, 1988 :

Services for Everett Paul Wayland, 79, of rural Colchester, are Thursday, May 12, at 2 p.m. at Dodsworth-Piper_Wallen Funeral Chapel.

The Rev. Kitch Shatzer will officiate and burial is in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to the Elms Nursing Home or Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.

He was born Aug. 15, 1908 in Chalmers Township, a son of Jed M. and Myrtle A. Clark Wayland. He married Alma I. Strader Sept. 24, 1940 in Palmyra, Mo. She died July 28, 1972.

Surviving are two sons, Paul R. of Ulysses, Kan., and Dale E. of Shenanadoah, Iowa; a daughter, Ruth Ann Sibley of Colchester ; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister, Wilma Parkins of Colchester.

He was preceded in death by a son in infancy; and a brother, Donald.

Mr. Wayland served on District 185 School Board for 12 years.

He was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Macomb Masonic Lodge 17 AF and AM, was past master of the Masonic Lodge in 1936 and was a member of the Saturday Night Masonic Club.

He was a farmer and had resided in Chalmers Township all of his life.
