Anna was born March 24, 1914, to Ignatius and Anna (Risse) Spenner in West Point.She grew up in West Point and after her marriage they lived on the Steffen home place where they farmed. She was a mother who enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing cards. She worked in the cafeteria at Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD., from the early 1970's until her retirement.
She and Othmar moved into Hartington in 1983 and she has been a resident of Avera Sister James Nursing Home since 1998.

She was prededed in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Joseph, Henry, Father Ignatius and Father Conrad Spenner; three sisters; Catherine, Sister Johnitta and Sister Marie Paula; two step-sisters, Theresa and Mary; a son-in-law, Joe Dan Plunk; and a great-granddaughter.
