Staff Sergeant Yvonne "Von" Tillmon of Birdie, 36, died Sunday, April 29, 2007.
Services were at Madison S. Palmer High School on Saturday, May 5, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. Minister Matthew Jackson officiated. Burial was in Holly Grove Cemetery. Henderson and Sons Funeral Home in Tunica had charge.
Born September 21, 1970, to Walker Tillmon and Gloria Bradley, she confessed Christ at an early age at Holly Grove M. B. Church at Birdie. She was educated in the Tunica County School System and joined the U. S. Army upon graduation where she served actively for 18 years. She was also employed by the Department of Human Services in Tunica. She was preceded in death by her father, Walker Tillmon.
She is survived by a son, Johnathan Tillmon and a daughter, Johnay Tillmon, both of Birdie; her mother, Gloria Bradley of New Orleans, LA; a stepmother, Dorothy Cotton Tillmon of Birdie; her grandparents, Herman (Velma) Bradley of Madison, IL, and Webster (Lorrine) Feliciana of New Orleans; six sisters, Cassandra (Rodney) Chambers of San Antonio, TX, Eloise Tillmon of Walls, Chanta (Herbert) Wilson and Niquia Bradley, both of New Orleans, Tia Tillmon of Birdie, Tiffany Tillmon of Counts, AL; one brother, Mark Cotton of Sandy Springs, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Her pallbearers were the 850th Transportation Company of the U. S. Army Reserve.
The Tillmon, Bradley, Cotton family of Yvonne Tillmon would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude and for your support and kind expression of sympathy during this time of bereavement. Your kind acts, love, prayers, and words of comfort shall forever be remembered.
