Born c.1845, Edward was the 15-year-old son of noted political figure Thomas Y. How(e) and his wife, the former Sarah Hulbert. He died less than a month after his father in the summer of 1860, joining him here in the How family plot along with the remains of three other How children who had died before his birth. The teenager's survivors included his mother and an 18-year-old sister, Sarah, but both soon joined him in death: Sarah almost 3 years later to the day, and Mrs. How three years afterwards, in 1866.
