Fred "Junior" Alsman was a resident of St. Louis, Missouri at the time of his death. He was one of four people murdered in Harrodsburg, Mercer County, Kentucky on November 9, 1991. Robert Daigneau opened fire on the automobile killing Fred Alsman, Palmer Rousey, Tom Bannister and Donna Daigneau. Two passengers in the car, Ann Naylor Rousey (wife of Palmer Rousey and niece of Fred Alsman) and Rita McGlone, survived. Robert Daigneau took his own life later that same evening.

Fred Alsman was the son of the late Fred Alsman and Linnie Cox Alsman. He was employed by Union Pacific. In addition to his niece, Ann Naylor Rousey, he was survived by five sisters, Geneva, Fredia, Leoma, Linda Sue and Jewell; one brother, Howard; dear friend, Penny Yardley, and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Naylor on Oct. 29, 1979.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 1991, at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home, Danville, KY, officiated by Rev. Don Jones. Burial, with military honors, was in Bellevue Cemetery.
