Catherine Evans Braun Gothier born June 6, 1887, in Wisconsin, to Nick and Lena (Sheckel) Evans. They farmed near Dell Rapids for a few years. She had 6 years of schooling and had to quit to help take care of soem of ther 15 brothers and sisters.

She married George Braun and farmed near Dell Rapids for a few years where Arthur, Anna and Elfred (Charlie) were born. they moved to Arlie, Minnesota, where Delores was born. They had to live in a grainy for several months while waiting for the other people to moved out of the house. A few years later they bought the farm below Halver Hill, where Erma Jean was born. The children went o school in the Faris #45 school.

During the depression they lost this farm and moved to the Booth Farm west of Flandreau where George died. Elfred was an epileptic and Erma Jean was a baby. She continued to farm with the help of Elfred and various hired men.

In 1933 they moved to the Akem farm where she farmed for 18 years. They then moved tot he Schmidt farm east of Flandreau.

In 1942 she had a sale and moved to Flandreau. She bought 3 houses and lived in one. Later she sold 2 of the house and bought the Krogman farm north of Flandreau.

In 1946 Catherine married Ernest Gothier adn moved to his farm south of Flandrea. Later they had a sale and moved to a house on West Pipestone Ave., adn traded that house partly for the farm below Halver Hill. They mvoed back to the house on East Pipestone Ave., here they both lived until their deaths.
