Mrs. Willie Ewing, wife of Lew Ewing of Range, Ok. died Saturday morning at the family home as a result of complications following child birth, hope being entertained for the recovery of the patient until pneumonia developed.
The deceased was born in Rio Frio, Texas, May 11, 1887 and died May 3, 1924. She married Lew Ewing on January 10, 1910. In addition to her husband, three children survive, her mother Mrs. A.M. Scarborough, two brothers, Tilden and Efford; three sisters, Mrs. W.H. Rollings, Mrs. T.M. Robinson and Mrs. R.L. Cook all residing in various parts of Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado.
The deceased had lingered for several days hovering between life and death, with the community in deepest sympathy hoping for her recovery but death came Saturday morning, the news being received with deepest regret in the home community and in Guymon where Mr. and Mrs. Ewing were so well known.
The funeral was held in the Hartville Church Sunday with Rev. Hill of Guymon preaching the funeral sermon with many people from this place present, together with a great concourse of neighbors and friends of the family. Burial was in the Hartville cemetery immediately across the road from the Hartville church.
As a token of respect and deep appreciation of the deceased, the funeral crowd is reported as one of the largest ever assembled at a funeral in rural Texas county.
