MRS. A. H. BEAL RITES HELD HERE; LIFELONG RESIDENT

Last rites for Mrs. A.H. Beal, well known lifelong resident of the Holyoke community, were held Saturday afternoon, August 31, at the United Methodist church of Holyoke.

Officiating at the funeral was Rev. Gerald Dingman, pastor of the United Methodist church. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park, with arrangements in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beal, who was 56 years of age, passed away Wednesday evening, August 28 at Presbyterian Hospital in Denver. She had been ill for several months and entered the hospital a few weeks ago.

As Frances Sprague, one of five children of Frank and Goldie Sprague, Mrs. Beal was born May 27, 1912 in Holyoke. She was graduated from Phillips County High School here in 1929 and then attended the Denver College of Music.

She was united in marriage to Albert Henry Beal of Holyoke on August 8, 1931, in Holyoke. To this union two daughters were born, who survive.

Mrs. Beal was employed by The Holyoke Enterprise for a time and also served as historian for Phillips County. She was listed in the 1938 edition of "Who's Who in Colorado" for her outstanding work. Mrs. Beal was a member of the Christian Science church of Julesburg. She was a charter member of the Holyoke Business and Professional Women's club and was also a member of Agenda federated club.

She greatly enjoyed music, as well as flowers and her yard and home five miles north of Holyoke, and contributed much to the music culture of this community. She was a piano teacher for a number of years.

Surviving Mrs. Beal besides her husband are two daughters, Alison Diane, Mrs. Harvey Siedenburg, of Seattle, Washington, and Sonia Renee, at home; her son-in-law, Harvey Siedenburg; her mother, Mrs. Goldie Sprague, Fruitland, Idaho; one sister, Bette, Mrs. Joseph Hopper, Fruitland, Idaho; two brothers, Billie B. Sprague, Holyoke and F. Neville Sprague, Fruitland, Idaho; two grandsons, Clinton and David Siedenburg; and other relatives and many friends.

Preceding Mrs. Beal in death were her father and one sister, Florence.
